Volunteering Opportunities

1. What are the types of volunteering activities available through Pro Bono Accountancy?

Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore  aims to be the first stop for all kinds of volunteering opportunities related to Accountancy in Singapore. You can choose to volunteer with the elderly, disabled, environment and the arts, among many other different causes in the community. There’ll  be an activity to interest every volunteer.

2. Do I need any basic accounting knowledge to volunteer?

Yes, this is a platform to match accounting needs of the VWOs. Therefore, basic accounting knowledge is expected.

3. Can I volunteer for any activity?

Yes, you can choose to volunteer for any activity that you are interested in. However, your application will be subjected to VWOs approval.

4. No one has contacted me after I have signed up for an activity. What do I do?

Please feel free to contact the VWOs directly to obtain more information on the volunteering opportunity.

5. What are the terms and conditions for volunteering through Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore?

Using the Pro Bono Accountancy Portal

6. Do I need to create an account with Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore in order to volunteer?

Yes, you must create an account in order to sign up for activities.

7. Do I need a personal email address?

Yes, you would need an email address to register online with Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore. Your email address will be sent to the VWOs that you have registered an interest with.

8. I have lost my login ID/password for my Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore account. What do I do?

Please retrieve a temporary password with your login ID/email address here..

9. How do I retrieve a proof of attendance/certification for my past participation via Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore?

Please approach the VWO in charge of the activity as they are the ones endorsing the number of hours contributed by volunteers. Pro Bono Accountancy Singapore will not keep a record of your participation, or the number of hours contributed, through the portal.

Volunteer Welfare Organisations (VWO)

10. How does an organisation register as a Volunteer Host Organisation (VHO)?

VWO registration is open to National Council of Social Service (NCSS) registered organisation which engages volunteers in its operations, programmes or activities. Registration is done via the Pro Bono Accountancy portal.

11. What are some of the benefits of being an Pro Bono Accountancy VWO partner?

  • More resources can be catered to the needs of your organisation
12. What kind of services can I request?

Please refer to the Glossary for the list of the services available. Please note that statutory audit, external audit, personal assistant/secretarial services will not be provided by the volunteers.
